Over Christmas break I wasn’t to do as much as I wanted to as much as I wanted to. Although I was able to go out to my grandparents house. While I was there I set up their live evergreen tree, sadly I was able to get that set up before my gramps got back to the house for lunch and I was allowed to go with him and feed cows. Setting up the tree took about two hours because it had been sitting in the back of the truck all week and it was frozen solid. My gramps had perfect timing when he showed up and we left the girls were cooking and when we came back the tree was decorated and dinner was done. Helping him feed cows for work was really good for me because even though I had to breathe in corn dust which I am allergic to I got to skip out on doing chores inside of the house. While we were feeding cows we saw one that was running around acting like her usual idiotic self and she slipped fell and broke her back. We took her to the vet while she was very heavily medicated, he said that it was his personal and professional opinion that she wouldn’t have the strength to live through the recovery process and he had to put her down. After we got back to the house I hopped in the gator and I checked the pictures on the game camera. We ended up having about fifteen pictures of deer and about a hundred and fifty of squirrels and cows. What made me mad is that there wasn’t a single buck on the pictures. After I got done putting the chip back in the game camera I had to feed cows for my grandma. So I had to get in the big dodge and take two bales to the cows and one to the horses. The cows were so hungry that they broke through the fence and chased me down the road. So of course I just opened the gate and led them back into the same field that they were in and set out the hay. Once again I lucked out, my uncle Charlie was finally worth something other than bail money and lawyer fees he had the fence fixed by the time I got back up to the driveway. I guess that all good luck has to balance out with bad luck, so I wasn’t too mad when the bale arm broke off of the back of the truck. But that was a quick fix all that I had to do was weld the darn thing back on and after that was done I was finally able to feed the poor horses. I got the truck stuck and I had to bring the big one hundred and twenty five horse power New Holland tractor to pull it out. After I had the truck out and back up to the barn I had to put out another bale of hay to a different herd of cows. Finally after that I was able to go up to the house at about seven o’clock in the afternoon and enjoy being with family on Christmas day.
